Drawn by me on an ipad

This is a composition of some trees in a line in a reasonably generic alpine type setting. Basically my sort of warmup to loosen my hand and get colors moving when drawing. There is an exceptional futility to producing digital art in 2026. It’s tragic but I also think the ease of producing a perfect image exactly how you imagine it with gemini adds a thrill where you as an artist are forced to confront the basic facts of your work. Like why are you doing it and what is your true aesthetic position…

We really need to up the max filesize in this joint but alas. Enjoy the digital crunch of my screenshot of a screenshot of a procreate drawing over an illustrator export of a rhino model of a drawing Im working on for the city. Theres something intriguing to me about the juxtaposition of obviously flat 2D silhouettes in 3d arrangements. Obviously these aren’t finished (is anything ever finished though) but there are some moments I think that work here… The NYC area is so large that I think the layered 2D skylines actually works quite well in order to portray the overwhelming density of the urban environment. I see it as a median between a traditional skyline silhouette and an actual 3d type aerial drone image. When you bring in 2/3 point perspectives I almost think the buildings lose an element of their monumentality as they would have to have some perspectival distortion. BUT IDK GUYS, that’s just my ramblings for today. Heres one last drawing, a real physical one this time,

I lied about it being one drawing but just putting these bonh up here to make sure everyone knows Im not just messing around with a computer. Raw dog ballpoint pen on paper just experimenting with views that’s how thorough I know the city! PEACE OUT
